Department Introduction

There are five attending physicians in out department, including the Chairman: DR. Hung-Tao Chung,and DR. Hao-Chuan,Liu、DR.Yu-Shin,Lee、DR.Hsu, Hsin-Mao、 DR.Ya-Ting,Chang .They are all Taiwan Society of Cardiology certified pediatric cardiologist. We provide clinic service from Monday to Friday.

Our job is to deal with all the pediatric heart disease. The most important of all is the congenital heart disease. The congenital heart disease is the congenital structural anomaly of the heart. The incidence is around eight to twelve per thousand live birth. The incidence would be even higher if the cases of stillbirth are included. According to the statistic study, only forty to fifty percent of congenital heart disease patient is diagnosed within one week after birth and only fifty to sixty percent is diagnosed within one month after birth. Owing to remarkable progress of diagnostic technique and the awareness of pediatrician for the diagnosis of the congenital hear disease, the percentage of diagnosis is improved during the perinatal stage recently.

Although there is no obvious change in the incidence of the congenital heart disease, the total case number of the congenital heart disease is decreased remarkably due to the declining birthrate in these years. Therefore, it is our most important mission to improve the early diagnosis and quality of medical care for the patient of the congenital heart disease.
