Department Introduction

The Division of Gynecologic Oncology offers comprehensive cancer treatment using a multidisciplinary approach. We offer state of the art treatment modalities in a caring, personalized environment. The Division of Gynecologic Oncology participates in several national and international clinical trials of novel therapies in the treatment of reproductive cancers. Our patients benefit from the expertise of a highly experienced, interdisciplinary treatment team including Gynecologic Oncologists, Radiation Oncologists, Diagnostic Radiologists/Nuclear medicine, Pathologist, and Specialized Oncology Nurses. This team is dedicated to providing the best care while recognizing and helping with the emotional and social aspects of a cancer diagnosis. We offers a multitude of support services for patients and their families.Each patient’s treatment plan is individualized and developed in collaboration with the referring physician. The attending physician personally oversees the care and management of every patient and remains in close contact with the referring physicians for the duration of care. The attending physicians and oncology nurses remain available to patients at all times during their care. Under the effort of the members of our department, we have achieved and become one of the leading medical teams in Gynecological cancer in Taiwan. Our clinical research focuses on state of the art surgical treatment to treat gynecologic disorders including Laparoscopic surgery, Intraoperative radiation therapy, Advanced reconstructive and complex pelvic surgery and Sentinel lymph node biopsy. Our experience and research have lead to numerous publications and international presentations, which have the establishment of clinical guidelines.　We have a complete fellowship program in Gynecologic oncology to offer the best training for young doctors interested in this field. The fellowship selection process identifies candidates with excellent clinical and teaching skills, a career interest in oncology and demonstrated ability in basic, translational or clinical research. Upon completion of the fellowship, the newly trained Gynecologic Oncologist will have the necessary skills to accept an academic position, evaluate and manage patients with gynecologic malignancies, and participate in collaborative research activities.　He / she should also be able to implement cancer education programs, participate in institutional & national clinical trials, and assume a leadership role in cancer centers. Our research in a variety of basic science programs (cellular immunobiology, molecular genetics, physical chemistry, molecular biology, matrix proteins, cancer pharmacology, and nutrition); several clinical research areas (molecular oncology, gynecologic oncology, surgical oncology, clinical biology and biotherapy) and in cancer control and cancer epidemiology.
