Department Introduction

The Obstetrics Department was founded in 1989, it is now one of the top hospitals in the country with the most number of deliveries every month (450-500 per month). Neverthless, we continue to put our effort into developing and improving our diagnostic tools, examinations and facilities. In the meanwhile, we continue to excel in medical knowledge and practices, together with the Neonatology Department, we have established a Perinatal Centre, offering a more comprehensive and detailed antepartum examination and postpartum care.

Facilities
Delivery room: There is a total number of 15 beds for labor, 9 for tocolysis, 2 operating rooms for spontaneous delivery and Cesarean section each, offering a 24-hr non-stop health care. The delivery room and postpartum ward total up to 76 beds with specialized Obstetrics nurse professionals readily on site to assist the pregnant women and those postpartumly.
Eugenic room: is led by Obstetrician for antepartum genetic counseling, with one genetic counselor and fou genetic technologists。We offer culture and chromosome examination with final report assessment.
Ultrasonography room: Obstetricians will perform high level/levelII and above fetal ultrasonography.　 So far we have 6 machines? And 4 professional technicians, offering examinations daily for patients from outpatient clinic and to help in Obstetricians and Gynecologists in assessing each patient’s condition.
Molecular laboratory: Led by Professor Tzu-Hao Wang.
