Department Introduction

Women account for half proportion of the population. Although men's and women's organ systems are basically the same, women still have special physiological characteristics, such as menstruation, vaginal discharge, pregnancy, birthing and breastfeeding. Those are much different from males’ disease. In order to taking care of female patients, the division of traditional Chinese pediatrics and gynecology are parted from the department of traditional Chinese internal medicine in 2001.

The development of traditional Chinese gynecology could trace back to the Xia and Shang Dynasties. The clinical practice experience was accumulated for four to five Millenniums. The efficacy of treating women’s diseases showed excellent. In our division, physicians are all with Chinese medicine and Western medicine dual licenses. We inherit the traditional Chinese medicine treatment experience, and training after Western medicine gynecology.

Professional characters are important factors of the quality of medical care. We hold the concept of "medical knowledge is boundless, and life-long learning". Our physicians also attend Chang Gung University, Graduate Institute of Traditional Medicine, and continue sophisticated academic research. High-quality and comprehensive medical services are our goal. From continuing efforts, there were considerable gains in the clinical, teaching, research and other aspects. Chinese medicine have a significant effect on many gynecological diseases, especially in menstrual-related diseases, prenatal and postpartum care, menopausal syndrome, or gynecological special disease, such as endometriosis and gynecological cancer care, infertility, various infections.
