Department Introduction

Department of Joint Reconstruction in the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Linkou Medical Center is one of the best joint reconstruction teams in Taiwan. Currently over 600 total hip replacements and 800 total knee replacements are done annually in the department. The Surgical Academy of Joint Reconstruction (SAJR) is an example of center of excellence in the Chang Gung Health Care System. It concludes the best personnel and resources and is functionally divides into four centers: (1) MIS Center, (2) Postoperative Comfort Center, (3) Education and Learning Center, and (4) Information and Quality Control Center. In the SAJR, the treatment of patient is comprehensive and quality-assured. Patients have easy access to pertinent knowledge about their treatments before and after the surgery. The SAJR also provides training opportunities to both foreign and domestic fellows and help them develop the state-of-art surgical results in their future practice. About 30 minutes drive from the Chiang-Kai Shek International Airport, the SAJR can be reached conveniently by public transportation or Valet limousine. For domestic patients who have the privileges of Taiwan Health Care Insurance coverage, he or she will be cared in the Linkou Medical Center.
