Department Introduction

After the establishment of kidney transplantation by Professor Ming-Kun Lai, Chang Gung Memorial Hospital Urology Department is one of the major kidney transplantation center in Taiwan. We have performed more than 700 kidneytransplantations up to date. Professor Chu and Section chief Associate Professor Chiang are the leading transplantation surgeons followed by Dr.KL Liu, Dr.HH Wang and Dr.KJ Lin. Associate Professor Chen and Dr.TM Wang devoted in pediatric urology and both are leading key opion leaders in pediatric ureterovesical reflux surgery.Professor HS Chu is also the pioneer of extracoporeal shockwave lithotripsy and percutaneous nephrolithotomy in CGMH after his training in Frankfort, Germany. He conducted several important drug trials in kidney transplantation in Taiwan. Associate Professor HW Chen had his fellowship in Brown University and Boston. He has great archievement in minimal invasive UVR surgery. Associate Professor YJ Chiang had completed immunology traninig in Pittsburg University and now is the chief of the section of general urology and kidney transplantation. He had established kidney transplantatin immunology lab in CGMH and also conducted several import trials. Assistant Professor TM Wang finished his fellowship in Boston. He is one of the leading experts in pediatric UVR endoscopic injection and also investigates in urologic tissue engineering. Assist Professor KL Liu completed his fellowship in Osaka, Japan. His major interests are laparoscopic surgery and endourology. Doctor HH Wang had short period fellowship in Osaka and will study in immulogy in Imperial College London. Doctor KJ Lin was promoted to attending staff in 2009.
