About us

Principal Investigator:Huang-Yu Yang Ph.D.
Introdution:
The Advanced Immune Laboratory was established in January 2020 under Department of Medical Research and Development of Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital. It primarily offers services such as sample processing, flow cytometric cell sorting, and high-parameter flow cytometry analysis.
Mission:
With the rise of immunotherapy in recent years, our laboratory is dedicated to deciphering the relationship between diseases and immunophenotypes, which is a crucial foundation for advancing immune precision medicine. Through advanced high-parameter flow cytometry analysis platforms, we can obtain a wealth of immune information from a small amount of clinical samples. This not only reflects the interactions between diseases, treatment modalities, and immune cells but also enables us to predict treatment responses based on the screening of immune subpopulations. By identifying the most suitable treatment for each patient, we aim to provide relevant services in the clinical setting. Furthermore, by combining flow cytometric cell sorting with single-cell RNA sequencing technology, we have the opportunity to extract more information from clinical samples, uncovering the determinants of disease mechanisms and treatment responses, and eventually offer related services in the foreseeable future.
The technical areas developed by the Advanced Immune Laboratory including:
1. Sample processing techniques: isolation and cryopreservation of immune cells from animal or clinical samples.
2. Cell sorting techniques: purify specific cell populations using flow cytometric cell sorters for subsequent experiments.
3. High-dimensional immune phenotyping analysis techniques: Developing various high-parameter immune cell staining panels that can be readily used by researchers, reducing the threshold for utilization and improving interoperability across studies.
4. Advanced flow cytometric data analysis techniques: High-parameter flow cytometry generates large amounts of data beyond conventional instruments, and novel analytical approaches aid researchers in visualizing and quantifying research outcomes.
