Confocal Microscopes

1.Confocal microscope would just use by the microscope technician.
2.User's qualification：Everyone who need our service can reserve by the CGMH service reservation system.
3.Reservation Precautions：
	I.	Please reserve by the CGMH service reservation system,and then print the requisition. Give it to us when your reservation comes.Please be aware that if your proposal is approved by CGMH,you don't need to stamp,and if not,you need proposal director's stamp and sign.
	II.	Please check your sample's condition that it is suitable with our facility.We will charge no matter what happened uneless facility malfunction.
	III.	The time for our facility is hourly rate.After finish the service,we will burn the data to the CD/DVD.We can't use USB flash drive.
	IV.	If your service has finished before you originally reserve,we still charge based on your reservation on the system.Please note that if you over 30 minutes more than you reserve, you need to charge a hour.
		For example:
		i.	User reserve from 10:00 to 12:00,then start at 10:30 and over at 11:30.We charge for 2 hours.
		ii.	User reserve from 10:00 to 12:00,then start at 10:30 and over at 12:31.We charge for 2+1 hours. (Over 31 minutes and we charge for a hour.)
		iii.	User reserve from 10:00 to 12:00,then start at 9:31 and over at 12:00.We charge for 2+1 hours. (Over 31 minutes and we charge for a hour.)
	V.	If you would like to cancel the reservation,please do it within 24 hours before your reservation start.We still charge if you don't.
	VI.	Please report your basic information and sample's condition after every service.
	VII.	Microscopy Core laboratory don't provide CD/DVD for users.User's data will save for a month.We will organize these irregularly.
	VIII.	In order to encourage researchers to research related to living cell or tissue,We will charge only 12 hours that your reservation is between 12 hours and 24 hours.Please reserve on the CGMH system for two whole day and call us for discussion.

4.Sample's conditon and requirement for laser scanning confocal microscopy
	I.	Precaution for dealing with sample
		i.	Please don't use glutaraldehyde durning fixing sample.
		ii.	Please use the specific fluorescent mounting medium.
	II.	Sample's format:
		i.	Glass Microscope Slides:0.17mm and clean slides to coverslip with anti-fade mounting medium.Please put your sample in the center.
		ii.	Living cells:
			A. Upright Confocal：	The maximum diameter is 90mm cell culture dish.
			B. Inverted Confocal (TCS SP8X)：	Cell should be cultured with thickness 0.17mm,and diameter 18mm or 25mm circle glass coverslides.
			C. Inverted Confocal (TCS SP2)：	Cell should be cultured with thickness 0.17mm,and diameter 24mm or 58mm circle glass coverslides.(Our lab just provide diameter 58mm circle glass coverslide,and 24mm size you need to prepare by yourself.
	III.	Observe the fluorescent stain on fluorescence microscope:
		i.	Confirm that expression of the fluorescent whether it is correct.
		ii.	Prevent the fluorescence crosstalk and minimize the presence of it.
		iii.	Notice the antibody specificity and check whether it correspond to your sample.

academic research.When you reserve the services listed in the center, please describe in the acknowledgment

part of the article when the paper are published. This will be greatly help to us in applying for funding

and maintaining the quality of our services. Please send us a copy of the paper or tell us the volume,number

of pages or title of the published paper,We are so grateful for your kindness!
