RESEARCH INTERESTS 

1. Epigenetic Regulation in Osteoarthritis (OA):
1-1 Investigating DNA methylation and histone modifications in OA progression.
1-2 Examining the role of microRNAs in the epigenetic control of gene expression in OA.
1-3 Identifying epigenetic markers as potential diagnostic or prognostic indicators for OA severity.

2. Epigenetic Regulation of Mitochondrial Function in Joint Diseases:
2-1 Studying how epigenetic modifications influence mitochondrial gene expression in joint tissues.
2-2 Investigating the interplay between epigenetics and mitochondrial dysfunction in OA and osteoporosis.
2-3 Identifying epigenetic interventions to modulate mitochondrial function and alleviate joint diseases.

3. Integrative Epigenomics in Musculoskeletal Disorders:
3-1 Developing comprehensive epigenomic maps for joint tissues affected by OA and osteoporosis.
3-2 Integrating multi-omics data (epigenomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics) to unravel complex molecular pathways.
3-3 Applying systems biology approaches to understand the holistic impact of epigenetic changes on mitochondrial function in musculoskeletal disorders.
