GMCL'S Facility

1. Miseq System-Illumina
Access focused applications such as targeted resequencing, metagenomics, small genome sequencing, targeted gene expression profiling, and more. MiSeq reagents enable up to 15 Gb of output with 25 million sequencing reads and 2 × 300 bp read lengths.
2. ABI 3730 capillary sequencer
The ABI 3730 DNA sequencer uses capillary electrophoresis to separate DNA molecules based on length with resolution down to one nucleotide difference. This instrument can be used to sequence DNA from either single genes or multiple genes used in serotyping closely related strains of bacteria. It can be used to identify polymorphisms in conformations of single stranded DNA or in fingerprinting microbial communities digested with endonucleases. It also can be used in microsatellite analysis.
3. GeneTitan™ MC Instrument
The GeneTitan Multi-Channel (MC) Instrument automates array processing from target hybridization to data generation by combining a hybridization oven, fluidics processing, and state-of-the art imaging device into a single bench-top instrument.

The imaging device in the GeneTitan MC Instrument uses an external, high-intensity xenon lamp and dual excitation and emission filters to capture images from array plates for use in expression, genotyping, and microbiome studies.
4. AffymetrixGenechip Microarray Instrumentation System
Microarray technology enables the flexible throughput analysis of genotyping, chromosome copy number variations and gene expression. It can be applied to various applications such as predictive genomics, reproductive health and oncology research.

Stay up to date with the latest news on microarray technologies from Thermo Fisher Scientific.

The 5300 Fragment Analyzer system is a capillary electrophoresis instrument that can separate up to 48 or 96 samples in parallel. This system is designed to improve lab efficiency and workflow, allowing you to automate the analysis of large numbers of samples and focus on results.
5. Agilent Fragment analyzer 5300
Using automated parallel capillary electrophoresis, the 5300 Fragment Analyzer system enables DNA quality control for a range of applications. These applications include NGS libraries, gDNA, cfDNA, and large DNA fragments. RNA quality can be checked by this system as well, where small RNA, total RNA, and mRNA vaccines are applicable for RNA integrity, sizing, and quantification analysis.
6. Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer
The 2100 Bioanalyzer system is an established automated electrophoresis tool for the sample quality control of biomolecules. The 2100 Bioanalyzer instrument, together with the 2100 Expert Software and Bioanalyzer assays, provide highly precise analytical evaluation of various samples types in many workflows, including next generation sequencing (NGS), gene expression, biopharmaceutical, and gene editing research.
Digital data is provided in a timely manner and delivers objective assessment of sizing, quantitation, integrity and purity from DNA, RNA, and proteins. Minimal sample volumes are required for an accurate result, and the data may be exported in a many different formats for ease-of-use.
7. QuantStudio 12K Real-Time PCR System
The QuantStudio 12K Flex system is a highly flexible, comprehensive real-time PCR platform that leverages the best of Applied Biosystems real-time technology in a single instrument. The QuantStudio 12K Flex Real-Time PCR System includes easy-to-change blocks that can accommodate TaqMan array cards, 384-well allowing you to select the format that is right for your project whether it’s now or in the future, for maximum flexibility and consistency in your research.

• 6 Emission Filters (500-720 nm), 6 Excitation Filters (450-670 nm), 21 Color Options
• Compatible with a full range of TaqMan assays: The QuantStudio 12K Flex System is optimized to enable clear, clean data for all TaqMan assays that might be used across a broad range of applications, including gene expression, microRNA and small noncoding RNAs, SNP genotyping, protein analysis, protein thermal shift, high resolution melt, copy number variation, and pathogen detection.
